Gallagher is looking for an entrepreneurial Business Development Manager for our AP&T product category to open new markets in the Netherlands and Germany. You will develop markets, build strategic partner networks and translate opportunities into scalable growth. A role for true business builders with international ambition and a passion for agritech.

What will you do as a Business Development Manager AP&T?
As Business Development Manager AP&T, you will have the opportunity to create new commercial opportunities for Gallagher in the Netherlands and Germany. Your focus is on our product category Animal Performance & Traceability (AP&T): solutions that enable livestock farmers to digitally identify, track and analyse animals to improve performance, enhance animal welfare and support data-driven decision-making.

In this role, you act as the pioneer opening new markets for AP&T where Gallagher does not yet have an established position — in contrast to our fencing business, which is already well developed. You identify opportunities, build networks and ensure that our solutions find their way to distributors, government bodies, innovation partners and relevant programmes.

Your key activities include:

  • Exploring commercial opportunities in “white areas” across the Netherlands and Germany

  • Developing new distribution and partner networks

  • Initiating pilot projects and early-stage sales initiatives

  • Positioning Gallagher solutions within tender, subsidy and policy frameworks

  • Gathering and sharing market insights with product and innovation teams

  • Preparing markets for scaling and handover to sales

You will have plenty of autonomy and responsibility to build within an international playing field. You are successful when opportunities have translated into tangible growth, impactful partnerships and a scalable model that our commercial teams can further develop.

Who’ll you work with?

As BDM AP&T, you report to the Head of Key Accounts & New Markets and work closely with colleagues in sales, key accounts, marketing, product management and innovation across Europe and with Gallagher Group in New Zealand. You collaborate across departments to launch pilot projects, drive market expansion and develop new commercial initiatives. Externally, you build lasting relationships with distributors, government institutions, innovation programmes, NGOs and research organisations. You navigate an international stakeholder landscape where commerce, innovation and policy intersect. While others manage existing portfolios, you build the ecosystems in which AP&T can grow.

What we offer

  • A gross monthly salary between €4,500 and €6,000 (full-time), depending on experience

  • An annual bonus of up to 10% of your gross annual salary

  • A 12-month contract (40 hours) with the intention of permanent employment

Job requirements

You enjoy building, connecting and discovering. You also bring:

  • At least 5 years of experience in business development, international sales or market expansion

  • Proven success in opening new markets or distribution channels

  • Experience with pilot projects or tender processes (advantageous)

  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills

  • Interest in or experience with agritech / animal management (nice to have)

  • Fluent Dutch and German, with strong English communication skills
